連續性出版品 Serial
定義：A publication in any medium issued in successive parts bearing numeric or chronological designations and intended to be continued indefinitely. Serials indlude peridoicals; newspapers; annuals (reports, yearbooks, etc.); the journals, memories, proceedings, transactions, etc., of societies; and numbered monographic series.


構成要素：
1.以連續方式，分批出版。
2.載有編號或年代日期。
3.意圖永遠繼續出版下去。

五種類型：
1. periodicals
2. newspapers
3. annuals (reports, yearbooks, etc.)
4. the journals, memories, proceedings, transactions, etc., of societies
5. numbered monographic series


期刊 Periodicals
A kind of serial that has a distinctive title and that is issued more frequentyl than once a year and at regular intervals, with each issue containing articles by several contributors.


非印刷性的連續性出版品，依相關章節規定：
1. 主要著錄來源為首期(或最接近首期的)之書名頁(如用的不是書名頁，要在附註項說明)。
2. title page of the first available issue
3. 無書名頁的title page substitute係指analytical title page, cover, caption, masthead, editorial pages, colophon, other pages.
